“This EP is intended to complement the Summer 2012 release of my Projekt CD, ‘Animism.’ These pieces are examples of algorithmic and fractal sketches that I often use as ‘seed’ material for more detailed and extended pieces. ‘Prism,’ ‘In the Serene,’ and ‘Early Rain’ were recorded this past year while I was working on and finishing up ‘Animism.’ ‘Kepler’ and ‘Wildlife’ date back to the late 90s, during the time I was recording what would later become my first Projekt CD, ‘Gongland.’ This release is dedicated to my past and present friends in the algorithmic and fractal music scene, including Dave Strohbeen, Yan Terrien, Phil Jackson, John Dunn and the late Tim Conrardy. Special thanks to Thomas Park for graciously providing a home for this release and to photographer Mark Mushet for the cover art.”– Forrest Fang, 2012
