In 2019, Thomas Park began using Python Code to generative iterative remixes of sound files. Remixes were created nearly from scratch by the processor.
The effect was of a strangely controlled chaos– too loose to be a composition, to ordered to be noise, Thomas thought of these pieces as a sort of “landscape” music, in which indicative sounds were presented one after another without human intervention.
It’s a bit like stumbling across a new neighborhood of a city, for the first time, and encountering elements that are expected and some that are not.
