In search of great recipes for Generative output, using my Python environments, I had 2 threads running in my mind. On the one hand, the basslines from reggae and reggae-related genres were inspiring me, and I was noticing the way especially Caribbean artists were able to use them to bring organic and soulful vibes to songs. The second thread had to do with layered and/or interlocking ambient and chillout sounds, to create lush, soothing loop-based phrases. I wanted to combine elements of soul, rhythm, and ambient/electronic– music for the mind, heart, and body. “Riviera Sugar Fruit” is the result from my first take at this combination.
